In early November, the Gilcrest school initiated its movement-based character education program for the approximately 200 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Based on five pillars of social and emotional learning, the 30-minute morning sessions are designed to teach self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making through physical activity.
