New Motor Behavior Special Interest Group
We are pleased to announce the formation of the new Motor Behavior Special Interest Group (SIG), which will be co-chaired by Ali Brian, Nancy Getchell, and Paul Rukavina. The Research Council also supports the CSPAP and Measurement & Evaluation SIGs.
Research Proposals for #SHAPEseattle We were excited to have received 233 research abstracts and two symposia for review for the 2023 SHAPE America National Convention & Expo
in Seattle. Presenters should be informed of acceptance by the end of October.
2022 Research Grant Recipient
We are pleased to announce the recent recipient of the 2022 Thom McKenzie Research Grant: Daryl Campbell-Pierre, Texas Christian University (advised by Deborah J.
Rhea). The title of Daryl’s project is “The Effects of Multiple Recesses Daily on Children’s Motor Coordination.”
Scholar Lecture Named for Daryl Siedentop
The Research Council is currently reviewing nominations for several awards
and lectures, including the Daryl Siedentop Scholar Lecture.
Previously called the SHAPE America Scholar Lecture, it was renamed to celebrate the legacy of Dr.
Siedentop, who passed away in July 2021.
