Through online education, access to learning opportunities in health sciences is growing; however, online education can lead to feelings of isolation and disconnection from the educational community. This study from the July/August issue of the American Journal of Health Education (AJHE) evaluated the online learning community at Morehouse School of Medicine, which was established through the core foundation of the five Cs (communication, commitment, collaboration, content, and connection) to create community support for underrepresented populations. Amplifying Support for Physical Activity: The National Strategy on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health

In September 2022, the White House released the National Strategy on Hunger, Nutrition and Health. Of the five pillars of the strategy, four are focused on improving food access and nutrition, while one pillar is devoted to “supporting physical activity for all.” The inclusion of support for promoting physical activity in the National Strategy is a timely and welcome addition, and highlights the strong interaction between dietary behavior, physical activity, and health. Bidirectional Relationship Found Between Physical Activity and Quality of Life in Children and Adolescents

A new study published in Applied Psychological Health sought to investigate the reciprocal interplay between physical activity and health-related quality of life in children and adolescents. The research revealed that the more active the children were, the more likely they were to engage in physical activity, and the more physically active participants were, the more likely they were to have higher health-related quality of life.
